Nikwax innovates and develops all of our products at our facility in the South East of England. Our team of dedicated chemists and product developers ensure that our products offer high performance whilst having a low environmental impact. For more than 40 years, Nikwax has been blazing the trail for sustainable chemistry that outperforms environmentally hazardous products such as PFCs.
Alongside developing new and improved aftercare products for waterproof gear (Nikwax Waterproofing), and active wear (Nikwax Sweatproofing), the Nikwax Research and Development Team also develops new, paradigm breaking materials (Nikwax Eco-Materials, such as Nikwax Hydrophobic Down), and fabrics (Nikwax Directional Textiles, which are used in Páramo garments).

Our commitment to development

We operate a Chemical Management System which ensures that all chemicals we use in the lab are compliant with The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals Foundation (ZDHC) guidelines. You can find more details on our Materials Restricted Substance List (MRSL) here.
